What does service in the entertainment technology industry mean?
This means that your major source of income is from work in this industry. This includes working behind the scenes in any type of performance venue, behind the camera, on the road, or for dealers, manufacturers, production companies, consulting and design firms, etc. directly involved in supplying entertainment technology products and services.

How do you apply for a grant?

An application may be submitted on behalf of an eligible person by a spouse or domestic partner, a legal guardian or a person acting under a valid power of attorney or other legal authority. How are applications reviewed and how quickly can I expect an answer?
Applications are reviewed by a formal Review Committee. Grant decisions are generally made within a few days of receiving a completed application. You may receive a telephone call from a member of the Review Committee or their representative if there are further questions about your situation. If a grant is awarded, you will be contacted immediately.

How are Counsleing Grants structured?
For individuals seeking to initiate or support ongoing counseling, the funds are issued as a subsidy on a per visit basis giving the grant recipient the flexibility to change providers if they find their initial choice isn’t working well for them and, most importantly, encouraging a longer-term client/therapist relationship. Grants must start to be used within three months of being awarded.

Funds are also available for individuals entering an in-patient or intensive out-patient recovery program or those experiencing an emergency in-patient mental health event.

How are Counseling Grants paid out?
Payments are made directly to a licensed social worker, psychotherapist, psychiatrist, mental health facility, emergency medical facility, or chemical dependency recovery facility. Unlicensed providers are not considered eligible.

Grant recipients will need to sign a release form from their provider allowing us to work directly with the provider to arrange payment. Behind the Scenes will not request any information about the treatment other than dates of service.
